Troy Frensley

Troy Frensley joined the Conservancy of Southwest Florida in 2004. Frensley has a Bachelor of Science in marine science and environmental science from Coastal Carolina University. Before joining the Conservancy, he worked as a naturalist and interpretive park ranger at Huntington Beach State Park in Murrell’s Inlet, S.C. He is experienced in interpretive educational program design and delivery and also natural resource management of coastal environments such as shorebird and sea turtle nest protection.
Frensley enjoys educating Conservancy of Southwest Florida visitors about the terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems found in Southwest Florida. His experience with captive husbandry terrestrial and aquatic wildlife aided in the design of exhibits and care for the more than 150 animal species living at the Conservancy Discovery Center. He has volunteered with many environmental organizations and served as vice-chairman of the Grand Strand chapter of the Surfrider Foundation before relocating to Naples. In his free time, Frensley enjoys surfing, free diving, canoeing, camping, hiking and birding.
